Pow Wow Hawaii 2013: Day 2

Yesterday, I ran around Kaka'ako neighborhood in slippers & when I woke up this morning, I regretted my decision to choose style over comfort; I never realized how much I walked around to view different Pow Wow Hawaii murals being created & all of the racing back & forth to feed my street meter took a toll on my legs.

Even though, Pow Wow Hawaii 2013 officially started yesterday, majority of the local & international artists made progress on their murals; it was impressive seeing how each artists chose to tackle this week long art project, some artists sketched in their notebooks what they intended to recreate in 3D & others choose to freestyle unto their blank canvases.

It's mind blowing how much talent resides in Hawaii & it must be a real treat for everyone to work with their art "crushes." I'm so thankful to be able to interact with these gifted individuals, because I can't think of another event/opportunity for someone like me, to observe art in the making; being able to document the process & talking with artists who (sometimes) are still trying to figure out the final product in their mind is priceless.

Don't forget to stay connected & follow Pow Wow Hawaii on your social networks, it's your chance to see behind the scenes photos of the 2013 artists & be sure to save the date: Saturday (02.16) for the Grand Finale.

Here's some of my favorite photos from Pow Wow Hawaii 2013: Day 2:
